Dr. NHarris

I founded the “Claiming My No Debt College Education College Preparedness” Workshop, demonstrating my commitment to equipping students and families with the knowledge and resources to navigate post-secondary education and entrepreneurship. My leadership roles in extracurricular activities, such as Drum Major, S.T.E.M. Club President, LINK Crew leader, CCS Student Ambassador, and Vice President of the National Honor Society, showcase my strong leadership skills and ability to engage with diverse groups. Through my service and leadership in the National Society of Black Engineers (N.S.B.E.), I have advocated for broadening participation in STEM and helped students secure internships in engineering-related industries. My passion for creating opportunities in STEM fields can inspire children and help them explore potential career paths. My experience studying abroad in Cape Town, South Africa, at the University of Cape Town, demonstrates my adaptability and open-mindedness. These qualities can be valuable for mannies as we work with children from diverse backgrounds and cultures. My pursuit of a Ph.D. in Engineering Education and research on broadening participation in STEM, as well as the influence of culturally relevant experiences in children’s learning, highlights my dedication to creating inclusive educational opportunities.
